This celebratory opening fanfare is the introduction to the Yokohama Festival Overture , a work that Jan Van der Roost wrote on commission from the Festival Committee of the Yokohama Art Festival. At the request of the committee he composed a fresh, dynamic opening fanfare-for the entire brass section of the band and percussion (ad lib.)-playable independent of the overall work - the Yokohama Festival Fanfare.
