Description:
Bringing the grandchildren to music school and back home again is one of the – pleasant – tasks of many grandparents! I am very happy to take on this task often. I usually sit in a quiet place to work while my grandson or granddaughter has classes. During one of these waiting times, I had the idea of writing a short three-part piece for younger music students. That's how Ruby Red Rag was born, and shortly afterwards three of our grandchildren stole the show with it at a school party. This inspired me to compose a few similar pieces and combine them into a small suite. The work is suitable for various instrument combinations and can also be performed with a larger instrumentation. Have fun playing!
