The Quintetto / pour / Flûte, Hautbois, Clarinette, Cor et Baßon / composé / PAR / GEORGE ONSLOW / Membre de lInstitut de France op. 81 from 1852 is Onslow's third-last composition, if the numbering of the opus numbers corresponds to the time of composition. The dedicatees are Louis Dorus (flute), the Verroust brothers (oboe and bassoon), Adolphe Leroy (clarinet) and Martin-Joseph Mengal (horn). Shortly before his death, he dedicated himself for the first and last time to the genre that had been brought to its first bloom by his teacher Anton Reicha.
