Description:
With this arrangement of the Bolero, Christian Beyer dares to do something that most arrangers would surely have thrown up their hands in horror at. The result is remarkable: a (stylistically and sensibly shortened) version of the well-known masterpiece that makes full use of the wind quintet's tonal colors and possibilities through clever instrumentation. The snare drum ostinato can be added ad libitum. For the first 4 bars, key sounds from the oboe and clarinet are responsible for introducing the rhythm.
