Preis ertöne ihm - Jubilate - Elegiac chorale - Glory to God - Thanksgiving

With the exception of the chorale 'Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe' ('I pray to the power of love'), often heard as a prayer at taps, Russian sacred music has remained largely unknown in our country. The five pieces arranged in this edition are characterized by Slavic melody and full-sounding harmonies. In order to bring out their expressiveness, the possibility of choral instrumentation is explicitly mentioned. In accordance with the liturgical character of the composition, the performances are suitable in church services, on Memorial Sunday, Remembrance Day and - depending on the title - at weddings or funerals.
