The German music of the 19th century is rich in small compositional treasures that deserve to be rediscovered. The six pieces presented here are especially suitable for brass quartets because of their brevity. They are characterized by a harmonic richness that should be carefully considered in rehearsal. The possibilities of use are manifold. However, in terms of its original content, it can be performed in church services, on Memorial Day, and, in keeping with the title, at funerals and weddings. On choral instrumentation is recommended.
