Description:
Martin Joseph Scholl (Pressburg [Bratislava] 1782 – Parma, 08.12.1859) was a composer and band director, or Kapellmeister in Vienna, since 1810, at the military band of the Imperial and Royal Infantry Regiment Nr. 4 Hoch und Deutschmeister Infanterie Regiment ("Grand Masters and Knights of the Teutonic Order). The Serenade for Harmony is the introductory piece of a composition that we could define as a celebratory fresco of a battle, divided into several autonomous episodes; probably written under the influence of the work by J. Heidenreich, namely Schlacht von Aspern, with a similar title and which Scholl had conducted in Milan.
