Description:
It can sometimes be difficult for a music ensemble to have all of its musicians present at every performance. Often, personal, family, or professional commitments mean that, for smaller engagements, musicians are missing who play parts that are essential for the proper interpretation of the chosen piece. With this collection, we’d like to present an alternative that allows an ensemble to perform even when musicians are absent. The pieces can be performed with at least four musicians (parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 are "required"), but it is also possible to add an additional part (5 and/or 6 and/or 7 and/or 8). For an ensemble of about 20 musicians, the goal is for the pieces to sound rich and full-bodied when the parts are well distributed.
