Ricercari by Corrado Maria Saglietti is a trio for flute, oboe and clarinet consisting of four movements, each of which has its own character and atmosphere. The work explores the tonal and melodic possibilities of the three wind instruments and creates a continuous, sophisticated dialog between the voices. With its slow progression, the first movement creates a meditative and lyrical atmosphere in which the melodic lines merge into a harmonious song. The second movement, livelier and more flowing, emphasizes motifs that intertwine and continue light-footedly. In the third movement, which is based on an ostinato and its variations, a melancholy melody develops. Finally, the fourth movement concludes the work with energy and brilliance, emphasizing the virtuosity and interplay of the musicians. Through the elegance of its modal composition and the balance between melody, rhythm and timbre, Ricercari combines tradition and modernity and is equally captivating for performers and audiences alike.
