Description:
Slavonica! was commissioned by the Bloomsbury Music Group for the Bloomsbury Woodwind Ensemble. The composer wanted to create a set of three modern 'Slavonic Dances', which are strongly influenced by Dvorák's famous examples: an opening dance, a 'sousedská', and a lively 'sko ná' accelerating to a whirlwind coda. These dances can be played either by a group with one player per part, or by a full concert band wind section.
