Description:
Butterworth based The Banks of Green Willow on two folk song melodies that he noted in 1907 - "The Banks of Green Willow" and "Green Bushes". This lush textured Idyll is set here for a flexible wind ensemble, with the alto flute or clarinet opening the piece, and some lovely melodic moments for the other players too.
