One of his many Lyric Pieces, Wedding Day at Troldhaugen was written to celebrate Grieg and his wife Nina's silver wedding anniversary. Troldhaugen was the name of Grieg's house. The joyous outer sections depict the wellwishers' congratulations, while the middle section is more subdued and romantic. A great showpiece for double reed quartet with plenty to do for all the players.
