Description:
J.S. Bach's Partita in A minor was composed in 1718 for unaccompanied flute, and his only work in this genre for a solo wind instrument. Extreme demands are made on the performer's stamina; the sixteenth rest at the very outset of the piece might have been intended to be taken in jest as it is the only rest in the entire piece. This work fits nicely under the bassoonist's fingers, and may provide many wonderful hours of discovery into the genius of J.S. Bach. Movements: I. Allemande II. Courante III. Sarabande IV. Bouree Anglaise
