Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel (1690-1749) was a German conductor, composer and music theorist. "Bist Du bei mir" is proven to be from his opera Diomedes, but this title became known through the version for voice and continuo from the music booklet for Anna Magdalena BACH. The work was therefore erroneously attributed to J. S. Bach for a long time.
