Description:
Thomas Augustine Arne (1710 -1778) was an English composer. He is best known for his patriotic song 'Rule, Britannia!', which has become a second national anthem to 'God Save the Queen', and the song 'A-Hunting We Will Go'. Arne was a leading British theatre composer of the 18th century, working at 'Drury Lane' and 'Covent Garden'. 'Elegy on the death of Mr. Shenstone' was composed for 4 voices (A,T,T,B) in 1767 and is now arranged for Clarinet Choir by Dutch arranger Gerhart Drijvers.
