Description:
Das Jugendwerk Busonis erweist sich erneut als Fundgrube, selbst wenn es sich nicht immer um Erstdrucke handelt. Das 1879 entstandene 'Märchen' trägt im Manuskript die Besetzungsangabe 'für Violoncello und Klavier', separat ausgeschrieben wurde indes eine (arrangierte) Klarinettenstimme. Welches Märchen Busoni bei der Komposition vorschwebte, ist nicht geklärt. Einen Hinweis gibt der erregte Mittelteil des Werks: er ähnelt der 'Höhle von Steenfoll', dem dritten Stück der 'Racconti fantastici' op. 12 für Klavier, das einem Märchen von Wilhelm Hauff nachempfunden ist.
