Description:
Immerse yourself in the pulsating heartbeat of the metropolis with Steve Reich's groundbreaking masterpiece, "New York Counterpoint". This powerful work of Minimal Music captures the vibrant urban energy of New York through fascinating, hypnotically interlocking rhythms. The piece offers exciting performance flexibility: experience it either as a gripping dialogue between solo clarinet and pre-recorded tape, or in an opulent setting for a large ensemble of nine clarinets and three bass clarinets. This Boosey & Hawkes edition includes the score and the solo clarinet part, providing ambitious clarinetists with access to a definitive 20th-century classic. (Please note: Additional performance materials for the full live ensemble are available for hire directly from the publisher). An essential highlight for any contemporary repertoire!
