Description:
Amand Vanderhagen was not only one of the leading clarinettists of his time, but also a pioneering pedagogue whose teaching works influenced clarinet playing throughout Europe. As a Flemish musician who made a career in Paris, he combined the rich tradition of his homeland with the splendor of classical music. With his concertos and clarinet schools, he created works that were of great importance for a long time.
With this work, Vanderhagen created a monument to the clarinet, which was developing rapidly at the time, with virtuoso solos. Here it can be heard again for the first time in a long time.
