Description:
Anton Stamitz (1750 - around 1800) composed important contributions to the flute literature. The son of the famous 'Mannheim' Johann Stamitz lived for a long time in Paris and Versailles, where he published all his works - with one exception: the Duos for two flutes op. 1 were published by Schott in Mainz in 1785. This first printing was the model for the new Schott edition of those compositions - entertaining pieces that even students and amateur flutists can try out as a duo.
