From the foreword:
The meditations in this volume were created from practice for practice. In 25 years of church music ministry in various parishes and cemeteries, many friendships have developed with instrumentalists. In addition to the classical works, I also occasionally created arrangements that were performed on special occasions.
I have compiled nine of these "meditations" and a new composition ("Light Changes") for this publication and revised them again in 2020. I tried to keep the level of difficulty of the instrumental parts playable for ambitious amateurs.
Of course, other melody instruments are also suitable in addition to the flute; all arrangements can be interpreted in the same way on violin, oboe or clarinet.
