Description:
Bach's Arioso was arranged in many different forms by the composer. First written as a Violin or Oboe Concerto in G minor, now lost, it was then transposed and re-used as the Sinfonia to the Cantata BWV 156 inF major, first performed in 1729. A much embellished version was then used as the middle movement of his Harpsichord Concerto in F minor BWV 1056, published in 1738. It has been arranged here for Flute with Piano accompaniment byGeorge Barrère.
