In the past, arrangements of a composer's works in a wide variety of scorings contributed significantly to his fame. This volume brings together original contemporary arrangements (variation movements) for two flutes, including those from opera arias by Rossini, Bellini, Paisiello and Carl Maria von Weber, which are still as popular today as they were in their day. In addition to other pieces, there is an original version of the Andante from Mozart's String Quintet KV 614. The individual variations have been specially selected for pupils and enthusiasts from a didactic point of view. They encourage expressive, cantabile playing and at the same time serve to improve technical skills.
