This flute concerto was published in Paris around 1780 under the name Boccherinis and has been handed down under this name, but it was written by the Bohemian composer Franz Xaver Pokorny (1729-1794), as musicologists know today.
Since the work was introduced under Boccherini's name and enjoys great popularity, the new edition is also published under this name to avoid unnecessary confusion.
The piano reduction also allows players who do not have an orchestra at their disposal to become acquainted with this charming early classical concerto.
