The Flower Power Suite is inspired by the ideals and atmosphere of the flower power era. It is not a literal retrospective, but a musical evocation of a spirit of the time in which ideals, freedom, and creativity were central. The flower power generation believed in the power of peace, a sense of community, and personal expression. Music was not merely entertainment, but a means to connect, to dream, and to push boundaries. The suite was originally composed for four guitars and is presented here in an arrangement for four flutes, in which the transparent sonority adds a new sense of lightness and color. The movements may be performed either as a complete suite or individually as self-contained works.
