Description:
This piece was commissioned by the University Institute "Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa" in Caltagirone (Italy) on the occasion of the commemoration of the massacre of September 3, 1982 in Via Carini in Palermo. In the composer's vision, Mnemosyne, the Greek goddess of memory, relives the dramatic experience through the reflection of a mirror, as if time were broken: the restless line of the flute, its perpetual modal oscillation and the exuberant waves of the arpeggios confuse drama, hope, the past and the future in a magmatic whole that flows like a river.
