It is surprising to find that in the numerous compendiums of solos and orchestral passages in the different musical editions, none of them includes works from the Spanish repertoire. In order to fill this important gap, Antonio Arias proposes these notebooks, fruit of his experience as flute-soloist of the Orquesta Nacional de España, in which he not only tackles such work, but also completes it with new aspects in this field. Thus, the instrumental part is preceded by a trilingual (Spanish, French and English) historical introduction to the composers and their works. In addition, the flute parts are complemented by an orchestral reduction for piano, provided so that the flutist can place the passages in their orchestral context. The work is prefaced by the great flutist Michel Debost.
