Description:
This work was composed as a solo piece for amateur flutists. It is intended to emphasize the different characteristics of the flute without being too technically demanding. The first movement is relaxed and optimistic, while the second is a gentle, melancholy waltz. The finale is an exuberant Irish jig, but is characterized by some slightly idiosyncratic juxtapositions of binary and ternary rhythms.
