Description:
The title literally means 'stolen sonata', a reference to numerous quotes that occur along the way. Some were intentional, some were discovered after the fact, but all are a tribute to music and musicians of the past. The work was originally composed to be played entirely on the C flute. Upon consulting with knowledgeable flute performers, alternate parts for alto flute and piccolo were written in as options for the 2nd and 3rd movements.
