Description:
Telemann was the first composer to publish musical pieces in installments in the biweekly lessons of his music journal "Der getreue Meister". In doing so, he met the needs of many of his contemporaries, to whom he repeatedly offered new pieces in a variety of instrumentations for domestic use. Our edition with sonatas and pieces gives a good impression of the musical variety that Telemann had in mind when he conceived the "Musikmeister": alongside a sonata written expressly for oboe are works that can be performed on various melody instruments, so that the collection can be played in a variety of ways.
