Description:
The most famous composition of Norwegian composer Johannes Hanssen, Valdres (Valdres-Marsj) was composed in 1904, and was premiered by the band of the 2nd Regiment of Norway, with the composer playing the baritone horn. The primary theme of the march is the fanfare of the Valdres Battalion, while the theme of the trio is an original composition by Hanssen based on folk music typically played on the Hardanger fiddle.
