Matthias Pintscher's compositions are characterized by continuity and further development. In this work, he continues concepts that he developed in his flute concerto transir: With the flute, every note is 'tied to the breath' - no other instrument articulates itself so closely to the airflow itself. The instrument, vibrating in direct contact with the human breath, as an extension of the breathing body, carries within it the archaism of many millennia and builds its communicative bridge into the present day.
