Description:
This composition illustrates the changing moods of a weather vane. At first, it stands motionless, hesitant and curious in the face of the wind. Then, little by little, a complicity develops: the weathervane seems to want to lead the dance, mischievous and playful. It draws the wind into a whirlpool of light and carefree movements. But the unpredictable wind becomes stronger and stronger and takes control. It imposes its breath, its rhythm and its power. The initially playful weather vane is drawn into a whirling waltz and is subject to the whims of its invisible partner. In this piece, I have tried to translate a poetic image into music without submitting to the constraints of a rigid form or language. The instruments embody these protagonists like theater characters: the horn becomes a weather vane, expressive and agile, while the piano represents the wind, sometimes gentle, sometimes impetuous. The result is a lively dialog, a floating dance in which lightness and storminess intermingle.
