Description:
Joseph Schwantner originally wrote Black Anemones as one of the songs in his Two Poems of Agueda Pizzaro for voice and piano he also transcribed it for flute and piano. Upon hearing this stunningly beautiful work on a flute recital, french horn player, Matthew Mauro, set out to create a new version for horn and piano. The transcription includes all of Joseph Schwantner's original markings, but adds some modest recommendations to accommodate the horn's natural tendencies.
