Description:
The short piano introduction establishes an uncertain harmonic landscape, however, the horn entry is firmly in A major but soon veers away pushing at rhythmic and harmonic boundaries. A lighter mood invigorates the central (faster) section as the music becomes more confident, and harmonically safe. Finally, the main theme returns with some embellishments from the horn rising to a sustained high E as the music fades.
