This modern trio for oboe instruments features the same instrumentation as Beethoven's well-known Opus 87; the Hindemith theme is modified in contrasting, partly playful, partly contemplative forms, so that each of the three players is given full expression. A work of concertante chamber music that can furthermore be used as a study piece for oboe classes (advanced students).
