The music moves in an atmosphere of noble mourning, far from exaggerated pathos, and focuses on sincerity and inner feeling. The long, expressive melodic lines, characteristic of Filas, reflect a deep spirituality and a fine sense of timbre. With this work, the composer creates a personal homage and invites the listener to a moment of peace and reflection. In Memoriam is therefore one of the most sensitive contemporary works for oboe and combines expressive intensity with formal elegance.
