Description:
The pieces are numbers 1, 3, 7, 8, 10 and 11 of the 'Twelve Fantasies' for flute without bass by G.
P. Telemann. Since they are too low in the original version for the recorder, they have been transposed up a minor third for this edition. The arrangement of flute music for the recorder was a use of the time explicitly mentioned by Telemann, Hotteterre le Romain and other masters of the 18th century. The special charm of these masterful compositions lies in the alternation between rhythmically and melodically free forms and distinct dance movements.
