Description:
A rediscovery from the French Baroque era: the duo sonatas by Clair-Nicolas Rogets—a composer who has since fallen into obscurity—published in 1736!
Originally composed for two transverse flutes, Rogets’ duets can also be played beautifully on alto recorders. The sonatas included in this booklet have been arranged for two alto recorders using the third-transposition method common in the 18th century. With its at times strongly pronounced chromaticism, Roget’s music almost has an early Classical feel to it. It seems as though the composer was a little ahead of his time.
