Description:
Vivaldi's first recorder concerto, the Concerto in F major (RV 442), was originally written for alto recorder, strings and basso continuo. The arrangement for recorder quartet reproduces all movements in their entirety. In contrast to the virtuoso recorder concertos RV 441 and RV 443-445, it offers the opportunity to tackle a magnificent Vivaldi concerto in the difficulty of the (easy) intermediate level.
The concerto is ideally suited for a pure quartet as well as for larger ensembles. Especially in larger ensembles, the dynamic contrasts of the solo and tutti passages can be realized in the best possible way. The participation of a sub-bass in the tutti passages can further underline the contrast to the solos.
