Description:
In his position as "Ordinaire de la musique du roi" at the court of Louis XV, Jean-Marie Leclair gained a wide range of experiences as a celebrated violin virtuoso at the "Concerts Spirituel", which he implemented in his compositions. He succeeded brilliantly in skilfully uniting the French and Italian styles.
His "Deuxième récréation de musique, op. VIII", a suite with 7 extensive movements, is certainly one of the most important and beautiful compositions of the Baroque. In doing so, Leclair lends expressiveness to each voice without empty virtuosity. This fantastic suite is sure to be one of the favourites of any advanced recorder quartet - we promise!
On the "Deuxième récréation de musique", op. VIII there is the musical history "Wellness of Baroque Music", in which all movements of the volume are combined into a complete performance of text and music (approx. 45 minutes).
