Description:
Hotteterre's ŒUVRE SECOND consists of 5 suites for a transverse flute with basso continuo, 2 movements for 2 flutes with bass and the "ECHOS" for flute solo. Our edition of the "ECHOS" reproduces the original text of 1708 in the so-called French treble clef (g' on the lowest staff), transposed upwards by a minor third from G major to B flat major in the treble clef that is common today and according to Hotteterre's instructions for playing the recorder by a minor third. The player who plays his own echoes will have to work with auxiliary chords for the cleanest possible intonation on the recorder for the most dynamic differences. So the medium-difficult musical text quickly becomes a difficult but wonderful bravura piece for the recorder. Hotteterre's decoration table is also printed and explained. A complete facsimile of the entire movement is also included in the edition.
