Description:
This well-known Spanish folk song has a very dance-like quality. No wonder! After all, the "Vito"—which is celebrated in the song and brings a flush to the cheeks—is a popular Andalusian dance in which women dressed in jackets and sombreros bring the bullfight to the dance floor. Raphael B. Meyer’s arrangement for a 7-part recorder ensemble or recorder orchestra (S/S/A/T/T/B/Gb) is just as fiery: Tutti and solo passages alternate in this spirited arrangement in 3/8 time, exuding plenty of Spanish flair.
