Description:
The manuscript of a copyist from the late 18th century combines one- and two-part "Fantasier og Preludier & Capricier og andre Stykker til Øvelse for Flöyten of Quantz". Under this title lies an extensive collection of great and sophisticated movements in the Royal Library of Copenhagen. Quantz probably wrote these sentences initially for practice purposes. In fact, they turn out to be true musical treasures. These fantastic pieces are now available in two bulging volumes. In the summer of 2002, the editor was able to recover two pages of the manuscript that had been thought lost. Their music is now being re-released for the first time (MVB71, No. 58 Theme and Var. 1 - 8).
