Description:
The pieces in this booklet are taken from harpsichord compositions by Handel, which have become generally known as Aylesforder Stücke. It is typical play music, which makes an instrumental arrangement well possible due to its two-part movement. The recorder as a characteristic instrument of the baroque period is more suitable than any other instrument to express the restrained melodiousness of these wonderful melodies. The pieces are arranged for two instruments in fifths. The upper voice is set for a soprano flute c'', thus sounding an octave higher than it is notated, indicated by the 8 above the treble clef. The lower voice is primarily set for an alto recorder f', but can be effortlessly reproduced by a tenor recorder c' in almost all pieces.
