With its 26 cantons and four language regions (German, French, Italian, and Romansh), Switzerland is a very diverse country. This diversity is also reflected in Swiss folk songs.
Based on traditional Swiss melodies from the 16th to the 21st century, Raphael B. Meyer arranged the pieces included in this edition for trio. The pieces are particularly effective when performed by a recorder or string ensemble, but can also be played in a mixed trio with any instrumentation. The melody part includes the original song lyrics; it can also be sung and accompanied by two melody instruments or a piano.
