Who doesn't know them, the songs of the Comedian Harmonists? This is the first volume of three songs in a version for recorder quartet. The volume was so well received that there were repeated requests for a sequel. From the extensive repertoire of the vocal group, further "Greatest Hits" were selected, which were released as Volume 2, Volume 3 and Volume 4 (MVB 79).
The decisive criterion for the selection was the really perfect tonal suitability, especially for recorders. Because not everything that sounds wonderful when sung is equally suitable for the sound of the recorder. All songs in our editions were therefore extensively tested with a recorder quartet and thus found to be good in sound. The editions always include the complete score and parts.
