Description:
The suite for solo bass recorder is conceived as program music. In a Cinderella travesty devised by the composer, the heroine is not the humiliated stepdaughter, but a director of her fate who is ravished from the outset.
In the first movement, Beschwörung, one could imagine Cinderella dressing up and setting her sights on the prince.
The second movement, Rucke-Di-Guck, is a dance movement: Cinderella seduces the prince; the doves look on.
The final movement is entitled Am Ziel: the musical design is, however, anything but triumphant: Cinderella and her prince master everyday life with patience.
