Description:
Franz Schubert’s *Winterreise* (Op. 89, D 911) was composed in the fall of 1827, one year before his death. The song cycle, consisting of 24 songs, is characterized by a deep melancholy that is particularly evident in Raphael B. Meyer’s arrangement for recorder quartet. Thanks to the nuanced articulation possibilities of the recorders, the music can be perceived in an entirely different way. The parts for four recorders in varying combinations add an additional interpretive layer to the music through their different tonal registers. All pieces include the original lyrics by Wilhelm Müller, so the quartet can also be supplemented with a singer (tenor).
Volume 3 contains songs 17–24: "Im Dorfe" (TTBSb) / "Der stürmische Morgen" (ATBSb) / "Täuschung" (SnATGb) / "Der Wegweiser" (BBGbSb) / Das Wirtshaus (BBGbSb) / Mut (SATB) / Die Nebensonnen (TBGbSb) / Der Leiermann (BBGbSb)
