The composer Wolfgang-Michael Bauer, who lives in Baden near Vienna, combines classical music and jazz to create a natural, elegant synthesis: precisely composed with classical compositional technique, pulsating with jazzy rhythms and harmonic liveliness - always perfect in form without slipping into arbitrariness. This often gives the impression of spontaneous improvisation, although every note is notated down to the last detail: an effect of masterful balance between structure and freedom. "3 Pieces" (2025) embodies this signature in three characterful pieces that translate everyday scenes into sound. "Caffeine Rush" captures the driving energy of a caffeine-fueled morning, "Pannonian Sunset" paints the warm, melancholy mood of a Pannonian sunset in soft, vibrant colors, and "Nightlife" illuminates the pulsating, nocturnal vitality of the city in swinging rhythms and fusion-like harmonies. In this way, classical tradition and jazzy liveliness intertwine seamlessly to create music that is both structured and lively.
