Every day, we're bombarded with emojis. Every emotional state is translated into a single stylized face—from doubt and rage to cheerfulness and exuberance, the whole spectrum is covered. Steven Tailor has translated these emojis into music. There are now separate melodies for tenor or soprano saxophone for 16 of these emotions. The 17th piece, included as an encore, is the "Emoticon Canon," which blends several emojis together. The pieces are notated in B-flat tuning. The pieces are currently also available separately in E-flat tuning and in the bass clef. Chords are included so that the pieces can be played with piano accompaniment in class or with your own band.
